The Digest of Recent Contest Participation

I’m sorry that I didn’t renew my diary for a long time.
I’ll show you the digest of my contest participation from October to this January.

1. CQ WW RTTY DX Contest (Sep. 24-26, 2011)

2. JARTS WW RTTY Contest (Oct.14-16, 2011)

Remarks: I was forced to replace a fishing rod antenna with 12-meter wire loop style because I was ordered to remove fishing rod on the balcony by apartment owner. I tried “new” balcony antenna for the first time. Both emission and reception from new antenna became worse than from the previous one. But I managed to make QSOs with EU stations dependent on air condition.

3. CQ WW DX Contest Phone (Oct. 29-31, 2011)

Remarks: I tried my new antenna on the balcony in the SSB DX Contest. It was very hard to success in QSOs.

Remarks: Air condition was very bad on that day and I showed up in the 10m band. It was very hard to find UR stations.

Remarks: It was very hard to join the SSB DX contests with my poor facilities at home. I realized that the direction of NA was blocked building of my apartment house. Basically it is possible to exchange contest number with stations with strong signal.

Remarks: It was the first contest after new license of 100w transmission was granted. Emission was fairly improved. Reception is still dependent on condition but it is easier to copy CW signals than SSB.

Remarks: I had impression that participants in this contest was so many because condition of 10m band has been recently improved according to the increase of SSN. I could enjoy the contest very much.
