CQ-M International Contest

I participated in the CQ-M International Contest organized by Russian League between May 8 and 9.

I set my operation site on the shore of a big pond with Dipole for 40m and 20m bands, 2-Elements Yagis for 15m and 10m bands.

Compared with two DX contests held on March, Russian DX Contest and CQ WPX SSB Contest, CQ-M was very tough contest for me. Though I participated with almost the same facilities as on March, I resulted in only all 11 QSOs, the worst result on my individual record in DX contests. My final QSO entities are UA0, UA, UR, W, SP, LY and 5B.

The reason of failure will be many. At first it was because my facilities are very poor. But especially I didn’t understand the change of condition between March and May.
In Japan I could have QSOs with European stations in the evening in local time on the band of 20m and 15m on March. But it is now very difficult to have QSOs with European at the same time as on March because many domestic stations show up now.
In addition many of Russian stations are very strong and its number is so many. It is very difficult to win Russian big guns in pile-up fighting.

Next DX contest which in I’ll participate will be IARU HF Contest in July. I recognize this failure and will revise my contest plan in summer time.
